A blues ditty written about an Austrian Au Pair i met while living on Long Island in New York.Anna was her name and she was always the first person into the store i worked at in the mornings. I never caught her last name but she worked for the Levy family so thats where the title came from.

Cheers for listening and let me know what ya think

"International cooperation 4 the first time ever that we are aware of. Combining different studios and recording techniques. The process hit many snags but via constant email and Yahoo messanger these were ironed out.

Held him aside

The strangest chords I ever came up with, not intentionally, though. The song idea is about 4-5 yrs old but it was redone a couple of months ago into this version. One slight problem you might notice is the drums - I think I might have used the same pattern for this song and GRUGE. It's just that my wave library is very limited.
Please tell me what you think about this song.

Hey guys, we just recorded this in my apartment. It's a song off our recent album. We're called MARULA. Check out our site at marula.ca Enjoy!

sex

Btw, the vocals start in the middle of the song and I hate mp3 sound, so if any of you know how to make the best of it, tips would be appreciated, thanx. Usually I export in wav format.

On My Own

There's a feeling that we've all had at some point in our lives, when you suddenly realise that you've REALLY screwed something up and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it. No amount of regret or feeling sorry for yourself is gonna change a thing ... nor will it change the fact that it was entirely your fault.

Here's a song about that feeling ...

Your last breath

This song is about watching someone you care so much about slip slowly away and all your thoughts and feelings.

I wrote this song when I was 15 and I found it hard to express how I felt. I'd only just started playing guitar so the chord sequence is quite basic, but over the last 4 years it's gone through various revisions and includes a beautiful piano accompniment by my friend Matthew Gidman.

Antithesis

Here I am, back again after quite a few months of inactivity. Here's a piece that I admit is not for everyone as it is a bit of an epic progressive rock instrumental. (Hey Samuel remember how you wanted me to do one of these?? Well, here it is!). Seriously though, please let me know what you think.

The inpspiration behind this one really stems from my failed attempt at completing my engineering thesis earlier this year where I experienced many different feelings of anxiety, confusion and hopelessness, all of which I think I have captured here. I kept getting distracted from writing my thesis with this riff and weird rhythm in my head, which of course I just had to sit down and play. Hence, the song (and the title) Antithesis was born.

Useless

Probably not to the musical tastes of many here and most will probably agree that the title is remarkably apt. However, I am open to any and all feedback. Please feel free to take the piss out of the singing. It is not good but I wanted vocals so I did my best ( I really did!) :)

Thankyou in advance for any and all comments.

PS If you give up your time to listen to the track, please vote. 40%, 50%, whatever- it doesn't matter. It would help me to know that you feel that way and it would help my vote count for the January battle too :) Cheers.

Love/Stupidity

I added lyrics to my fruityloops experiment.
Its a short song, but I'm quite proud.
Its dedicated to my ex boyfriend, who is now my best friend and my lover... Yeh, work that one out.

Lyrics:

Why do you insist
That I am something special?
Have you not listened at all
How can you know
The ugly things I've done
And still call me beautiful
You call me beautiful...

Is it love?
Or stupidity?
It can't be love,
Because it's hurting me.
Is it love?
Or stupidity?
It can't be love,
Because its hurting me.

It's been six months,
A hell of a bumpy ride,
And I am amazed,
That you're still by my side.
Six months, feels just like all my life,
I know you don't believe in marriage,
But I'd love to be your wife.

Is it love?
Or stupidity?
Is it love?
That binds you to me>
Is it love?
Or are we just being silly.

[Lol, I instantly regretted the last line...as soon as I'd converted it into an mp3. I can't think of a song that uses 'Silly' and gets away with it.]

MERRY CHRISTMAS Y'ALL!

Evergreen

Finally! It works! this is quite seriously my 6th attempt at getting this song to load and play. Well done Chester. Well done.

Yes, so this is an old song... but has always held sentimental value with me :)

Check out my other stuff, I load another 2 songs today. A piano one, and then half a song... because i lost the other half... long story.

Seems a lot of people are adding lyrics. So I thought I'd put mine on a couple of songs :)

VERSE 1

So you’ve run away again?
And left nothing in your place.
Except a shadow and a sin,
Etched forever in your space.

PRECHORUS:

Than she turns to you and smiles,
At where you’ve been.
And says life ain’t,
Evergreen.

CHORUS:

Come fall down,
Get blown around.
You’re a leaf up in the air,
And it’s the autumn of your year.

VERSE 2

Well time is coming round the bend,
It seems you try too hard to smile.
And it’s only near the end,
That you find your inner child.

PRECHORUS:
It’s always,
Inbetween.
That you find life ain’t,
Evergreen.

CHORUS:

Come fall down,
Get blown around.
You’re a leaf up in the air,
And it’s the autumn of your year. X2

OUTRO:

You’re a leaf up in the air,
And it’s the autumn of your year.
Your year.

The Fate

Hey everyone. This is one of the tracks off an EP I'm recording.

VERSE 1

Where's this little idea gunna grow from here?
It's a tree I care for,
And everyday I rejoice.

Safe in the knowledge that with every choice,
I build a new life for myself.

PRECHORUS

Don't you understand,
That it's already planned,
It's nothing to do with the steps that we take...

CHORUS

But I,
I have a voice,
And I'm gunna sing you till spring,
Then I'll watch you grow wings and depart.

But it won't be long,
Till you carry on,
With the life that we built with you right from the start.

VERSE 2

When's our fate gunna levitate?
We're stuck in limbo,
Wanting to explore our range.

Standing akimbo,
Like a superhero,
Waiting for something to change.

PRECHORUS

Don't you understand,
That it's already planned,
It's nothing to do with the steps that we take...

CHORUS

But I,
I have a voice,
And I'm gunna sing you till spring,
Then I'll watch you grow wings and depart.

But it won't be long,
Till you carry on,
With the life that we built with you right from the start.

Obligations

Um, wrote this on the otherside of New Zealand. It's about admitting you're wrong basically :)

VERSE 1

There’s a place,
Where the worn becomes the new.
Few people know that it exsists,
Where redemption’s just admittance away.

And dignity will stay,
If situations are level with your head.

My,
What time.
I thought there for a while that i had won.
What a joke,
Falling prey to circumstance light years away.

CHORUS:

It’s a heavy obligation when you’re singing your own song.
And you’ve only just been told that you’re singing it all wrong.
And you think the words can’t change you’ve been singing them too long.

It’s a heavy obligation X3

But there’s a place you can go,
To lighten the load.

VERSE 2

March,
Fell.
April came and went and turned to may.
Today, here I stand clutching on to shame.
Won’t let up,
Waiting here for something to erupt.

Still,
It stays.
Locked inside my body aching maze.
And I’m right.
Right?

CHORUS:

My Turn

Please Note: This track starts pretty quiet so you may have to turn your speakers up a bit ... sorry!

Please give me honest feedback - I'm relatively thick skinned and I REALLY wanna improve my playing, singing, writing, etc. etc. The recording isn't great. I played / sang all the parts myself (the drums are my V-Drums) and kinda made up the arrangement as I went along! Still, it's the song that counts ...

If you've taken the time to listen to this then please rate it and leave comments. Thanks.

Swing

This is a song I wrote for my g/f. I put it up here because what i've done to the chorus is really weird and you either love it of hate it. Plus i didn't really put an awful lot of time into it so it sort of pales out near the end.

VERSE 1:

I know things are kinda weird right now,
And you're going through some stuff.
the earths orbit a treadmill,
And you can't run fast enough.

You gotta pause and take a moment,
A-fix a tighter pair of shoes.
Because I know you're made of something,
That is destined not to lose.

And, baby,
It hurts to see you in this state.
If only feelings could redeem themselves,
And all the spirits that they break.

CHORUS:

(And I...)

And I am here whenever.

(And I...)

And I've been here forever.

(And I...)

Let me be the teather,
On which you swing.

VERSE 2:

And when the world begins to shatter,
And you're stepping on the cracks.
I'll be there to push the wheelchair,
When it finally breaks your back.

You remind me of a dingy,
Floating out at sea.
I'm that lighthouse in the distance,
Guiding you to safety.

And It'll rain a little harder, still,
You'll probably get a bit more cold.
But just imagine how great that shower will feel,
When you finally get a hold.

CHORUS:

(And I...)

And I am here whenever.

(And I...)

And I've been here forever.

(And I...)

Let me be the teather,
On which you swing.

This is very much a demo, it was originally a piano/vocal track that a friend of mine added keyboards and programmed drums to. The vocals are occasionally a little out of time because the drums were added afterwards, but it gives an idea of the song, at least. All comments and suggestions welcome (especially if you have instrumentation / production ideas for when I record it properly). :)
